Nylex Drain

Date: 16th of November 2024

Entrance (Tidal): 2.1m RCP Materials: Brick, Concrete, Plastic Shapes: Round, Balloon

This drain was the encore of a bunch of us tunnel toads having a lovely day doing comofalls. The outflow to this drain is tidal but we managed to come at a good time where the tide brang the water only upto our knees. You could see the dirt and muck on the walls showing how high the tide can get in this drain and it would have the water come almost up to our necks.

The water kept at our knees for about 100 metres or so before shallowing out. We came to a split and immediately on the left is a chamber with some cool RBT pipes and the plastic section going upstream. To the right of the split the pipe turns into brick and continues heading west and shrinking to about 1.2m.

We went past the plastic section and saw that the drain changes to a pretty small brick balloon. Eventually we came to a small concrete room where we could stand up for a second. There was a small RCP pipe coming into the room and Venture kept insisting that there was something cool at the end, so one by one we catapillar wiggle for about 25m or so before we came to a secret room.

Rating: ★★★★☆

This drain was a real good but short explore. There is many things to see here. We went through the double barrel RBT but towards the end of it the water level rises up a fair bit and the bottom of the drain gets really muddy. Its cool that it loops around to the first outflow but I dont think id do this exit a second time.
